The Team

Welcome to Calder Valley Radio, we launched in July 2020 during the Pandemic and learnt very quickly how to cope in a crisis and support our community. Now three years on, we have come a long way with a wonderful team of local presenters broadcasting live shows, not only to the local area but to anywhere in the UK and beyond. 

We registered as a CIC (Community Interest Company) in August 2022 and hold monthly meetings for all our presenters. Calder Valley Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and we are here to support the community in any way we can from our base at Mytholmroyd Community Centre.   Tim is our Programme Manager. Join Tim for the ‘Retro Chart Rewind Show’ on Wednesday from 7-11pm and ‘The Hot 30 Countdown’ on Sunday between 5-7pm.

• Guy Parry

  Guy presents the ‘Sunday Spotlight’ morning show from 10-12 noon and also the ‘Magazine Show’ on Tuesdays: 7-9pm

• Fiona Love

  Fiona hosts the Monday's 'Positive Vibes' Show at 10am - 12pm; that is filled with holistic tips and news of arts/music and cultural events. On Sunday, its time to get all cosy with All About Folk at 8pm - 10pm, this is a great way to spend Sunday evenings.

• Piers Mettrick

  Piers presents the Breakfast Show Monday-Friday at 8am-10am with all star guests from around the globe.

• Carmen Pearson

  Carmen is one of our directors and looks after fundraising and social media.

• Dean Wilkinson

  Join Dean from 7-10pm for on Thursdays for ‘Simply 80’s’ and for ‘Sunday Breakfast’ from 8.00-10.00am.

• Movie Magic with David Millington

  David presents ‘Movie Magic’ from 2-4pm on Thursday afternoons. Movie tracks from every decade.

• Paul Longfield - Feel Good Breakfast Show

  Wake up to ‘The Feelgood Breakfast Show’ with Paul on Saturdays from 8-11am.

• Daryl Gill

  Join Daryl for ‘Mid-Week with Daryl’ from 10-12 noon on Wednesdays. Music for every taste!

• DJ Steve A's Midday Tunes

  Join Steve on Wednesdays from 12-2pm for ‘Midday Tunes’

• Linz

  Linz presents ‘Rock Face with Linz’ on Fridays from 7-9pm and ‘The Sunday Shuffle Show’ from 12-2pm.

• Viv & Dave's All Sorts

  Viv and Dave's All Sorts show features one of their Real Voices of Happy Valley podcasts and an hour of music with a connection (sometimes tenuous, always various). They are both experienced radio presenters, ran a booking agency between them and Dave has managed a venue, organised festivals and still stage manages at music festivals in England and Scotland.

• Nozin’ Around with Luke ‘Tatty’ Hoggarth

  From Punk to Indie and Local News, Tatty Hoggarth will be playing a wide variety of both modern and retro classics. Guests such as poets and musicians from the local community will also feature.
